Inventor of the Powernet
Director of Product Development
The Powernet is the invention of Carlos Rodriguez, a former Division I NCAA tennis player at the University of Virginia. Carlos has a rich history playing and teaching tennis, a sport he loves! Some of his notable accomplishments include:
- 9 time VHSL Virginia Tennis State Champion (4 team, 3 doubles, 2 singles) highest total of any tennis player in Virginia history
- 2 time Washington Post All Metro Tennis Selection
- Prince Tennis High School All American
- Former Member of the #1 Nationally Ranked UVA Cavaliers Tennis team
Carlos got the idea for the Powernet while serving as the Head Pro for the Country Club of Staunton in Virginia. While coaching his students, he grew frustrated because he couldn't seem to eliminate his students' tendency to swing at the ball while at the net. This prompted him to design a tennis friendly macro version of a paddleball game he played as a kid. Impressed with the results he saw, Carlos decided that it was time to get this device out to the tennis playing world!
